    800 years old Britain’s prestigious Cambridge University has introduced Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Scholarships (MMSS) for Indian students. Dr. Manmohan Singh is graduate and Honorary Fellow of Cambridge’s St. John’s College. Therefore on his name, college launched scholarship scheme in 2007 who is given to those Indian talented students who want to pursue doctorate in Science, technology, social science and economics.


    To achieve this scholarship, a certain process needs to be done, in which the students are required to submit applications for PhD at Cambridge University, where the students has to choose the college along with application. Here you can select St. John’s College.

    For the other qualifications, the student is required to graduate in the related subject. The maximum age of the applicant must be 35 years and the knowledge of the English language is must. More information regarding scholarships you can go to the St. College website.

    The selected students will be provided with the tuition fee, international air fare, Stayfond and overall cost related to United Kingdom visa is arranged by the institution.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    =>> An Indian national with a valid Indian passport, currently based in India are eligible to apply for the scholarship

    =>> The candidate’s age should below than 35 years of age on 31 December, 2016

    =>> The candidate should not have any previous significant exposure to a UK education, or receipt of UK government funding

    =>> He/she must hold a Master’s (postgraduate) degree from a reputed Indian university or institution with a First Class award in the relevant subject or field by October 2017

    =>> The applicant should intend to pursue a full-time Doctoral research degree from the University of Cambridge, commencing by September/October 2017, which they have already identified

    =>> Applicant must be able to display evidence of leadership qualities – for example, from extracurricular activities, contribution to the country or society in their chosen field

    =>> The candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English

    =>> He/she must be able to fulfil any other admission criteria laid down by the University

    The selected candidates will be provided with the scholarships which covers the following.

    ** Monthly stipend to cover living expenses

    ** UK Visa


    Application Process :

    Applicants must apply for their chosen Doctoral programme at the University of Cambridge, to commence by September/October 2017.

    Candidates should apply for the scholarship via the online application form by goint to the University of Cambridge Graduate Admissions Office web site, ie. graduate.study.cam.ac.uk on or before the due date
